For centuries, our most precious historical landmarks have been at the mercy of time, conflict, and climate. We believe that technology can offer a new form of preservation. Our project, The Chronos Project, is a documentary film with a mission: to travel to at-risk heritage sites and capture them in breathtaking detail using advanced LiDAR and photogrammetry scanning.

Tech Deep Dive: LiDAR vs. Photogrammetry
We\'ve received some great questions about the technology we\'re using, so we wanted to share a bit more! Our project uses two key methods to capture reality: LiDAR and Photogrammetry. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is like sonar but with lasers. It scans an environment with millions of laser points to create a geometrically perfect "skeleton" of a structure. This is amazing for accuracy. Photogrammetry uses thousands of high-resolution photos, which our software stitches together to create a photorealistic "skin." By combining the precise skeleton from LiDAR with the beautiful skin from photogrammetry, we can create a digital replica that is both dimensionally accurate and visually stunning. We are speechless. Thanks to you, The Chronos Project is fully funded! We can now officially begin our mission. We\'re thrilled to announce that, because of your support, our first expedition will be to the magnificent, centuries-old Swahili ruins of Gedi in Kenya. This coastal archeological site faces significant threats from coastal erosion and climate change. Your pledges will allow our team to travel there next spring to digitally preserve its unique coral-stone architecture and mysterious history before more is lost.
